Since the establishment of the District in 1968, the organization has served to stimulate economic development through multi-county efforts. All activities of the organization ultimately involve economic development. In today’s world, those activities encompass all things related to quality of life and quality of place.
Currently, the organization is comprised of the Area 7 Agency on Aging and Disabled Resources, Economic and Community Development, and Rural Planning Organization. These programs are available to local governments, businesses, and individuals who are Indiana residents of Clay, Parke, Putnam, Sullivan, Vermillion, and Vigo Counties.
